Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Search Begins
ǿմý has begun a national search for its next Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. The , chaired by Tim Lieuwen, executive vice president for Research and professor of Aerospace Engineering, includes a mix of faculty, staff, and students from across ǿմý, as well as external stakeholders.
“The leader of our academic enterprise plays a critical role in advancing ǿմý's mission by expanding access, promoting student success, supporting faculty, and strengthening the academic excellence that defines us,” said President Ángel Cabrera. “Thank you to Tim Lieuwen and the entire search committee for your thoughtful and thorough work in helping us identify our next Provost.”
The search committee welcomes applications from both external candidates and current members of the ǿմý community. The provost reports directly to the president and will play a pivotal role in shaping the Institute's strategic vision.
To support the effort, ǿմý has retained the executive search firm WittKieffer. Representatives from WittKieffer will meet with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to gather input on the preferred qualifications and attributes of the next provost.
Several virtual town hall events will provide the opportunity for the broader ǿմý community to contribute to the conversation. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate:

- Tuesday, June 3, 1:00-2:00pm - Open to ǿմý Staff. Co-hosted by ǿմý Staff Council. via Zoom.
- Tuesday, June 3, 3:00-4:00pm - Open to all ǿմý faculty members. Co-hosted by faculty governance. via Zoom.
- Tuesday, June 3, 4:30-5:30pm - Open to all ǿմý students. Co-hosted by ǿմý Undergraduate and Graduate SGA. via Zoom.
